Born in Quincy, California, Gerald Tibbedeaux had always admired the Northern California landscape having spent many of his adolescent years exploring the back country. Upon graduating from Quincy High School in 1965, Jerry immediately attended Yuba College in pursuit of a degree with Engineering emphasis. In his second year at college, Jerry attended a mandatory course in Land Survey and instantly fell in love with the challenge and adventure of the trade.
Jerry pursued his apprenticeship with the state where he was able to gain his field and office experience from many tenured Land Surveyors. He established himself in San Jose, California and received his first credentials for the PLS in the 1970's. After marrying his wife in 1967 and following the birth of his two daughters, Jerry set out to return to his hometown and continue his pursuit of completing the California PLS requirements in Plumas County.
Jerry moved to Quincy, CA in 1984 and then settled permanently thirty miles away in Portola, CA in 1985. In 1989, Jerry successfully passed the final exam for the California PLS becoming the 6,051st Land Surveyor in the Golden State. A year following, Jerry received his Nevada PLS becoming the 8,764th Surveyor in the Silver State.
Jerry has over 30 years experience in Land Surveying and has serviced over three hundred satisfied clients since establishing Tibbedeaux Surveying in 1989.
